The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills), Version 7, is the entrance exam used by the large majority of U.S. nursing and allied health programs to assess whether applicants are academically ready for the coursework ahead. According to ATI's published content outline, the exam has 170 total questions (150 scored, plus 20 unscored pretest items) split across four sections, with a total time limit of 209 minutes.
Nursing programs use your TEAS score, often alongside GPA, as a major factor in admission decisions, and many programs set a minimum composite score or per-section minimums. Practicing questions weighted the same way as the real exam, with a heavier focus on Science and Reading, builds familiarity with exactly where your study time matters most.

About the real test
The ATI TEAS 7 has 4 sections weighted unevenly: Science is the largest at 44 scored questions (29%), followed by Reading (39), Math (34), and English and Language Usage (33).
Don't under-study Science
Science carries the most weight of any section, and Human Anatomy and Physiology alone is 18 of its 44 questions. It's the single highest-leverage section to study.
Vocabulary questions reward knowing word parts, not just definitions
Prefixes and suffixes like hyper-, brady-, -itis, and -ectomy show up repeatedly. Learning the parts lets you work out words you have never seen before.
Reading Integration questions are about the evidence, not your opinion
When asked what a passage or data set best supports, pick the conclusion the evidence actually shows, not the most dramatic-sounding option.
